The Log Cabin quilt is one of the oldest and best-loved quilt patterns, and was even used during the Civil War to signal escaping slaves that a safe house was there for them. With its myriad pattern variations, every quilter should have it in her (or his!) repertoire! While the example in the shop is queen size (Janet just couldn’t stop making those blocks) you may choose your size. If this is one of your first quilts, we recommend that it be twin or smaller. You will be expanding your quilting skills by learning about color choices and by doing chain piecing and strip piecing. You will become bosom buddies with your square rulers, and will learn how altering a pattern just a little can make your life easier.
