KATHY GOUGER LEVEL: Beginner
This is a 3 part class for a beginner quilter. A Beginner quilter is someone with very little, if any, sewing experience and has very little, if any, rotary cutting experience. When the class is over, you will have a finished table runner. You will be a quilter! You will also have a good foundation of quilting knowledge. Many of the basic quilt making skills can be achieved while making this table runner. You will be learning techniques that will set the groundwork for your quilting success. I will teach you how to make the four patch quilt blocks, nest seams, and add a border. You will learn how to make a quilt sandwich, how to quilt with a walking foot, and how to finish a quilt with binding. By the end of the class you will be a quilter and have confidence to create many more quilts in your future.
Pat’s Sloan’s “Teach Me to Make My First Quilt” book is required for class. You also need to have attended my Introduction to Quilting class before taking this class. My Introduction to Quilting class goes over basic quilting tools, tools you will need for this class, how to use a rotary cutter and how to sew a ¼” seam. All things you need to know for this class. Attending the Intro class first, lets us jump right into making this table runner the very first day of the class.
