KATHY GOUGER Level: BEGINNER
This is a 3 part class for a beginner quilter. If you are just starting out, I would recommend taking my Four Patch Table Runner class first, and then take this class. You need to know how to work your sewing machine and how to cut fabric with a rotary cutter before taking this class. I will not be teaching rotary cutting during this class. In fact, you will need to have all your fabric cut before class. In this class you will learn how to make a Rail Fence Block on the first day. The second day of class I will teach you the techniques for machine appliquéing and show you how to appliqué around curves. On the third day we will make sandwiches, quilt sandwiches, and quilt with a walking foot. Then we will attach the binding, and the table runner will be finished. Pat’s Sloan’s “Teach Me to Make My First Quilt” book is required for class. **I also recommend, but it is not mandatory, to have attended my Introduction to Quilting class before taking this class.
