Flip and Fill Baskets

Flip & Fill Baskets pattern and supplies for large basket as per follows.  Of course, your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies too!

Basic Supply List:
§ Rotary cutter and ruler (mats are available in class)
§ Scissors and thread clippers
§ Seam ripper
§ Temporary fabric marker pen, pencil or chalk
§ Fabric clips or pins
§ Sewing machine with ¼” foot & machine manual
§ Walking foot – please bring even if you don’t normally use it!
§ Thread – neutral or to match fabric
§ Hand sewing needle
§ Required pattern: “Flip and Fold Baskets” pattern by Around the Bobbin.

Fabric Yardage: Use 45”, 100% cotton fabric, remove selvage edges.
§ The pattern provides instructions for the basket in 3 sizes In our class we will plan to make all 3 sizes – they’re that easy!
§ You may make the 3 baskets out of the same fabrics or choose fabrics that provide you with baskets in different prints and colors. § Please see “SUPPLIES - Fabric & Stabilizer” requirements chart on the back cover of the pattern. You may use fat quarters, yardage or your scraps.
§ Please cut fabrics prior to coming to class as this will save time and allow us to complete all 3 baskets. Cutting info below is also provided on the inside cover of the pattern:
Large Basket (8”x 8” x 4”) – Interior, exterior fabric and foam stabilizer – Cut (1) 16 ½” square from each: interior fabric, exterior fabric and stabilizer. Cut (2) 1 ½” x 9 ½” strips for bindings.
Medium Basket (6”x 6” x 3”) - Interior, exterior fabric and foam stabilizer- Cut (1) 12 ½” square from each: interior fabric, exterior fabric and stabilizer. Cut (2) 1 ½” x 7 ½” strips for bindings.
Small Basket (4”x 4” x 2”) - Interior, exterior fabric and foam stabilizer- Cut (1) 8 ½” square from each: interior fabric, exterior fabric and stabilizer. Cut (2) 1 ½” x 5 ½” strips for bindings.
